 Bow-Wow! Barbers is a Winner!

Waxahachie Journal is excited to welcome our newest advertiser – Bow-Wow! Barbers. Tucked away at 1300 W. Main Street, Suite 104. Bow-Wow! Barbers is a full service grooming facility. I personally refer people to Bow-Wow! Barbers, because they have been the groomer of choice for my Afghan Hound (Godiva) since they moved to Waxahachie in 2003. Godiva can be very particular about who brushes her coat, but she is always happy and rested when I pick her up from a day at Bow-Wow! Barbers. Shirley Bailey started Bow-Wow! Barbers in 1979. A loyal clientele (both 4 legged and 2 legged) supports the grooming staff with a steady stream of canine friends. Why are these clients so loyal? Because the stylists at Bow-Wow! Barbers LOVE animals, especially dogs. Appointments are carefully scheduled to allow enough time for the stylist to develop a relationship with your pet, and to ensure a pleasant experience. Only high-quality, non-toxic, all-natural products are used during the grooming session. And the animal is never sedated. The stylists attend at least one “continuing education” seminar each year to keep abreast of the latest in grooming, healthy skin and coat and behavioral issues. All sizes and breeds are welcome and every client is treated as an individual. Bow-Wow! Barbers has also developed a reputation of working with “special needs” pets. The shop has many useful tools and implements to ease and comfort those pets that suffer from physical disabilities, such as older pets, disabled and injured animals. The employees allot extra time for animals that require special attention for emotional needs, those that have been neglected, abused, suffer from separation anxiety and/or have had unfortunate grooming experiences elsewhere. The stylists even love doing “extreme makeovers” for the Ellis County SPCA! As Shirley says, “There are no words to describe what it feels like to take a poor, matted, filthy baby in and completely clean them up. You can actually see the gratitude in their eyes.” Bow-Wow! Barbers also carries a great selection of clothing, collars, leashes, toys, colognes and shampoos. The salon was voted Best Pet Grooming Salon in Ellis County and is recommended by local Veterinarians.
