Cats In Waxahachie PDF Print E-mail

More than 200 cats and kittens compete in 12 rings of judging for prizes and titles at the first annual cat show in Waxahachie.

Waxahachie, TX – From the exotic Bengals to the magnificant Maine Coons, more than 200 cats and kittens will compete for prizes at The International Cat Association, Inc.

(TICA) first annual championship and household pet cat show in Waxahachie. Hosted by the Turkish Van Cat Connection "Cats and Gingerbread" will be held November 22-23, 2008 at the Ellis County Youth Expo Center.

Pedigreed cats and kittens will compete in championship, kitten or alter divisions. Household pets and household pet kittens will compete in their own divisions. Breeds that will be represented at the show include Turkish Van, Maine Coon, Bengal, Persian, Sphynx, Norwegian Forest Cat, American Curl, Havana Brown, Munchkin, Abyssianian, American Shorthair, Birman, British Shorthair, Siamese, Oriental Shorthair and more. In addition, new breeds that will be on hand at the show include the Thai and Kurilian Bobtail

Proceeds from the show will benefit the non-profit cat rescue groups Little Orphan Angels and the Humane Society of North Texas. Little Orphan Angels will be at the show with cats available for adoption. Show hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both Saturday, November 22 and Sunday, November 23 . Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for seniors 55+ and children under 17.
