There is still time to see the Trains at NorthPark Mall in Dallas!
We decided to spend the last day of 2008 at this exhibit, and enjoyed every minute of this exciting display. The Trains at NorthPark(TM) is the most elaborate toy train exhibit in Texas, with vintage locomotives whizzing by on a journey across America. More than 40 Lionel-type O-Gauge and larger G-Gauge locomotives chug on 2,500 feet of winding track past miniature national landmarks including San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, Mount Rushmore, the Southwest's Painted Desert, Dallas' Reunion Tower, the Statue of Liberty and New York City's Times Square.
The attention to detail and the artistic depiction of each vignette was amazing. The longer that you stood at one exhibit, the more sights you captured. The winter scene of Washington D.C. was spectacular, with ice skaters, carriage rides and antique cars in front of the White House!
Located on Level Two next to Neiman Marcus, the exhibit is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm and Sunday from 12:00 to 6:00 pm. The Exhibit is open on New Year's Day and will run until Sunday, January 4th. Ticket prices are $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children aged 2-12 years and senior citizens (65 and older). The proceeds from ticket sales are donated to the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas.
