Could this be our future mode of Transportation? I hope so! FIRST “FLYING MOTORCYCLE” KITS ALMOST READY
“A flying motorcycle has made it to the production stage for the first time in the history of aviation,” said Larry Neal, president, The Butterfly LLC. “If you want to buy a flying motorcycle kit, the first 30 Super Sky Cycle kits are almost ready to go.”
The Super Sky Cycle is a cross between a gyroplane with folding rotor blades and a lightweight, three-wheeled motorcycle, Neal said. “The result is a vehicle that can both drive on the road, park in the family garage, and fly through the air,“ he said. “Now, instead of just reading about them, you can buy one. They’re real!”
“I’ve flown the Super Sky Cycle in front of thousands of people at air shows, and more have seen the television news coverage,” Neal said. “Almost unanimously people tell me this is an idea whose time has come.”
The production Super Sky Cycle has a Rotax 912ULS 100-hp four-stroke engine, an HTD belt drive with variable speed transmission, front and rear disk brakes, and optional long, sleek wheel pants with Cadillac-style taillights, Neal said. Along with the new space age look come better aerodynamics for a top speed in excess of 100 mph.
The first five production units are already spoken for. Neal said many people believe that “Flt-Drive Vehicles” may solve some unique transportation problems in different countries.
The Super Sky Cycle prototype first flew in December 2005, he said. The U.S. patent on the “Fly-Drive Vehicle” was awarded just days after the first test flights of the flying motorcycle prototype. Neal said more information, website: www.thebutterflyllc.com
